thank you, cupcake style

This delicious beauty is mine .. alllll mine. :) Ok well, maybe I'll share with Dan, maybe. :) Our amazing clients/new friends, Jessi & Doug had this waiting for me when we went to their house earlier this week for dinner.

I don't know if many of you know but I have a slight obsession with cupcakes. Not only are adorable, you can't really go wrong with all the different flavors. :) Jessi and Doug got a mold for this massive cupcake as a wedding gift and to my surprise, the first cake Jessi made was for me! It was a little thank you gift for doing their wedding photos. Isn't that so sweet!? They are 2 of the most thoughtful people Dan and I have ever met. We're so thankful for their friendship!

happy 1st birthday, nova!

I recently had the opportunity to photograph Baby Nova's 1st birthday party! My normal blog stalkers might recognize her from our first photo shoot. She's gotten so much bigger and has a lot more hair! :) I'm happy to report she's also progressing very well! She's got a pretty big doctor's appointment coming up soon so everyone keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well! :)

It's always so funny to see how different children react to their first birthday cake. Nova wasn't too interested in it but we still ended up with some really cute photos. How could we not when she had on that adorable hat!? I love it!

Happy Birthday, Nova!

meredith & brandon

Monday I made my way up to Purdue to meet Meredith & Brandon for their engagement photos. I was SO happy we ended up with a beautiful evening. It was our 2nd attempt and the last chance we had to do their photos before Meredith was heading back to California. Then next time she'll be back in town they will be getting married! :)

Isn't Meredith's smile contagious? They are such a genuinely happy couple. I cannot wait for their wedding! It's in less than a month so keep an eye out on the blog for more of them.

My brother happens to be a Purdue graduate so I had a lot of fun going back to the campus and finding fun spots to use as our backgrounds. It's been a few years since I have been there so it was neat to view everything in an entirely different way.

Here are a couple of my favorites!

blogged!

I've been blogged! :) Elizabeth Anne Designs featured my photos of Thomas & Camerin's wedding on their fantastic blog. You can check out the link here! I've been a blog reader of theirs for a while so you can imagine my excitement when they contacted me to feature one of my favorite couples for their 'real weddings' section! :) Thanks girls!

laura & curtis

Last Saturday Laura & Curtis were married at the Garrison. After a morning of random showers, the weather cleared off right when we needed to start their photos. I love when everything works out like that!

I absolutely adore Laura & Curtis. They've been such a wonderful couple to work with since day one. Not to mention they're cute, super in love and were so easy to photograph. You really can't go wrong with a couple like that! ;) Their bridal party was a lot of fun as well. During the toasts, one of Laura's bridesmaids sang her the Golden Girl's theme song. :) It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the day.

Laura & Curtis - I hope you love your photos! Let us know when you're back in Indy so we can catch up!

(here are a few of my favorites!)..

This is my absolute favorite shot of the day (above)! My amazing assistant/boyfriend/favorite person on earth, Dan, shot it.

my deepest condolences

This evening I found out some really upsetting news. One of my brides, Jessica, lost her father Sunday. She's getting married in just three short months. I wanted to post a little something so if you happened to read this you could keep Jessica, Chris (her husband-to-be) and their entire family in your thoughts.

I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting him for a split second when Dan and I happened to be downtown and ran into them at the mall. Jessica & her mother were on a hunt for the perfect 'mom of the bride' dress and her father had tagged along. :) I was really looking forward to spending Jessica's wedding day with her mother & father because you could tell how exceedingly happy they were that their daughter was getting married.

Please check out her blog and leave her some encouraging words. I know she would be beyond grateful.

katie & jeff

This weekend Katie and Jeff met me at the IMA for their engagement photos. Katie and I have known each other for years (we graduated together in high school). It's always such an honor and so much fun when old friends from school contact you to do their photos. We'll be doing their wedding in October and I can't wait! (especially since there are talks we might be taking some photos at a fire station .. I really like firemen) ;) ha!
