in memory of baby nova

As I was going through my daily emails today I noticed Nova's mom had updated her blog. Today's update wasn't what I was expecting. Nova had passed away. I don't know any details but I know her family must be in so much pain right now. I'm in tears myself just writing this.

She was such an absolutely adorable child. I've photographed her twice and each time I always left their home thinking how much I couldn't get over how adorable she was! :) I thought for sure she'd pull through. All the recent updates Nova's mom had posted were all good news so this came as complete shock for me.

As you read this please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. I'm sure it will help them to know that there are complete strangers thinking of them at this rough time.

jessica & chris

I've been looking forward to Chris & Jessica's engagement session since the second Jessica emailed me with a fun idea for a location. She asked if we'd be willing to go up to her parent's condo on Lake Wawasee. Don't get me wrong, I love Indy but if there's any chance I can photograph out of the city, I'm all for it! :)

We had an absolutely perfect evening (perfect weather & light). Everyone who lives on the lake was so welcoming .. allowing us to use their garage doors, docks, and their beautiful landscaping for our backgrounds! Some family friends of Jessica's also cooked us burgers, chicken & corn on the cob after we were done with photos! What a great way to end the night right!?

Jessica & Chris - Thank you for such a great day! Dan and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you also for making this one of our most memorable engagement shoots! We can't wait for your wedding next month!

meredith & brandon

Last weekend Dan and I photographed Meredith & Brandon's wedding. Meredith was a bridesmaid in Whitney & Chuck's wedding which we photographed last year. We were honored when she chose us to photograph her wedding as well! It was also nice to see a familiar face throughout the day! :)

We had such a good time spending the day with them and their families. Their bridal party was a lot of fun as well. I ended up with a photo of one of the groomsman with his pants down (with his underwear still on of course!). The rest of the groomsmen and the ushers made a bet that he wouldn't do it. That was quite a hilarious moment .. though I'm still not sure how much he made for it! I hope it was worth it!

So I know Jessica is just DYING to see her engagement pics that we did this weekend. I've been working like crazy to get hers done, Reagan's party pictures and a wedding from this weekend as well! happy 2nd birthday, bean!

Reagan turned 2 yesterday! I still can't believe it's been two years since she was born. She's just getting cuter and cuter (and still calling me Aunt Dee Doe!). :) I haven't posted as many fun photos of her as I had hoped but this summer has been crazy! Hopefully sometime soon I'm going to try to take her 2 year photos so keep an eye on the blog for those! For now check out a few I got at her party after her cake & ice cream. Too cute! :)

emilie & todd

Emilie & Todd were one of my first couples to book me for their wedding next year and I can't wait to photograph them again (they're such a cute couple right!?). For their engagement photos we all hopped in Dan's car and explored downtown Indy. We were even seriously considering trespassing where we shouldn't but I was too chicken. :) We had a great time. I love when couples are up for anything! Their wedding can't come soon enough!
